"The pentagram has always been prominent in magic and apparently owes its position to the Pythagoreans, who called it "Health," and used it as a symbol of recognition of members of the brotherhood. It seems that it owed its properties to the fact that the dodecahedron has pentagons for its faces and is in some sense a symbol of the universe." --Bertrand Russell, A History of Western Philosophy, 1945, page 147
To know the meaning of life, we have to explore the meaning of our own life -- our interpretation of our particular reality. Interpretation is a supportive technique for 'ordering' the cosmos. Everything has a pattern including the core patterns of creation. If there are 'right' angles are there 'wrong' angles, too?
Is our Topology of Space inherent or imposed from our interconnective relationship to self, world, and cosmos? What is the nature of being seen from within? Mathematical solids are interesting facts but also carry a host of mythic associations valuable to the soul which carry deep meaning in the geometry of the imagination.
Plato decreed, "Let no one destitute of geometry enter my doors." In the Timaeus, Plato describes how triangles make up five solids we call the Platonic Solids, and how these solids make up the four elements and heaven, or the firmament. These solids were central to Plato's vision of the physical world that links ideal to real, and microcosm to macrocosm. These mathematical forms had a great deal to do with the crystallization of esoteric doctrines and tradition, perhaps beginning with the Book of Enoch.
The notion that the mind is connected to the cosmos is the essence of magic. Transitions and transformations open an esoteric dimension beyond the world of nature in the domain of spirit, from the contemporary to the eternal, from the material to mythological, and a vision of suprasensible realities. The transformation is an enlargement of personality, an assimilation and integration of new outer experience with an inner element.
A new entity is produced when duality is enclosed: dual aspects of light and dark, form and formlessness, conscious and unconscious, ideal and transient, male and female, spirit and nature, sacred and profane, order and disorder, the known and the unknown. Images mediate authentic holistic Presence into incarnated divinity. Image is alchemical -- the fruit of realized soul. Image work is transformative.
Material changes have spiritual consequences, as spiritual changes have material consequences. Rituals are rites of discovery and transmutation of religious function as instinct. The therapeutic frame is analogous to the magical and cosmic frame. All recognize the ontological status of the demarcated unconscious dimension.
Mathematical metaphors model the zeitgeist of their epoch. But more than a metaphor, the secret to life is in these forms and numbers, including the secret of the Flower of Life and the potential of the Ether or virtual vacuum which pervades all scales from micro- to macrocosm.
We can have epiphanies into the very nature of reality, profound understanding and amplified meanings, and the feeling of universal oneness with the hidden cosmic consciousness of all things. We can tune into and feel with a penetrating deep understanding that everything is interconnected and interdependent in an inseparable cosmic web of relationships. Soul is also attentiveness. We have to bring our own understanding to the Heavenly Stone of Light.

THE MASK OF ETERNITY
The Quest for Immortality and the Afterlife
By Iona Miller, 2016
http://ancestorsandarchetypes.weebly.com/afterlife.html
“To himself everyone is immortal; he may know that he is going to die,
but he can never know that he is dead.” ~Samuel Butler
“The idea of immortality, that like a sea has ebbed and flowed in the human heart, with its countless waves of hope and fear, beating against the shores and rocks of time and fate, was not born of any book, nor of any creed, nor of any religion. It was born of human affection, and it will continue to ebb and flow beneath the mists and clouds of doubt and darkness as long as love kisses the lips of death.
It is the rainbow — Hope, shining upon the tears of grief.”
~Robert G. Ingersoll, "The Ghosts"
We tend to imagine that we emerge from and return to a non-existent Source. From the time of the Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon, notions of ‘living’ ancestry and some sort of afterlife have permeated the psyche and culture of Homo sapiens. Research into cross-cultural burial practices and propitiatory rituals, including sacrificial death, has been interpreted to indicate beliefs in a netherworld existence, populated by nature spirits and ancestors.
Trance, hypnosis, and psychoactive plants can produce experiences of a plenum or void, interpreted as a separate reality with spiritual attributes. The nature and locale of such a netherworld and afterlife remains the object of speculation, despite ghostly phenomena. Each culture has had its answer throughout the ages. Such absolute space has been equated with the groundstate of primordial mind and virtual light beyond the phenomenal.
Altered states and dreams gave rise to the notion that the stone cold abyss is an underworld of the dead, or an Elysian field. Then, as now, mortuary rituals helped the living endure separation. The afterlife says more about our imaginal and conceptual ideas about it than its literal reality as a physical or transcendental realm.
We still speculate on 'life that persists after death' and how or what that might mean, in spiritual, psychological, and scientific terms. This is not mere semantics or metaphysical narrative. A world seen through the lens of divine order is very different from one rooted in self-organizing chaos and complexity. Physical law and divine agency continue to quarrel in our unconscious minds, which retain archaic beliefs.
Even if ‘consciousness’ persists as a category or property, which is doubtful, it is not ‘ours’ in any sense, despite theories of panpsychism and panprotopsychism. Even if consciousness is a primordial feature of the universe, such proto-conscious bears no resemblance to our individuality. So, our theoretical continuance remains moot, being a return to the profoundly undifferentiated state. The conundrum remains a labyrinth in which we battle with the mortality minotaur.

It is not easy to make an honest attempt to find words for the ineffable. Like unashamed Aphrodite, this essay hopes to titillate, to provoke, to promise even more than it may deliver. The naked mysteries and hidden charms of existence are concealed and revealed. We will flirt with ideas, but won't cover all of her aspects, exploits, or relationships. We may even mix metaphors, or skip promiscuously from subject to subject like a restless dreamer.
We all have a keen grasp of the obvious when it comes to love goddess myths and basic psychology. Culture is part of our nature. Hopefully, each reader -- anyone who has had or lost a love, or is a devotee of the goddess – will find their own revelations arising within from the unconscious. A psychological approach to Aphrodite as image-making capacity attends and tends passionately to both psyche and logos.
Image and words are the interplay of sensation, intuition, thinking, and feeling. Born into Chronos, our 2 million year old soul longs for Kairos, Spirit's time is the opportune or crucial moment for significant change. Every moment is an opportunity if we tend and attend to it.
Aphrodite, the divine Beloved, is the unseen third being that informs every relationship and devotion. We suggest an archetypal sense of her in the world at large, beyond our libidinous cravings. Tending the heart is minding the soul. Imaginal figures invite us to share the wisdom of our own inner landscapes, dreams, intuitive callings, visions, feelings, and events. All the functions of the psyche converge in fantasy, in imagination. We are all equally prone to the seductions of our own inner images, thoughts, emotions, and sensations – to enchantment and disenchantment.
Ritual action brings a larger view of self and world. But technique is not soul. Aphrodite’s mystique is her sacred presence in the ordinary, inherent beauty apprehended as soul. But the creative power of language and the poetic is also a natural feature of reality. Imagination and language transform the soul through Mystery.

ARES: ARCHETYPE & ANCESTOR
Divine Descent; Mythology As Family
By Iona Miller, 2016
Descent From Antiquity
Myth is the DNA of the human psyche. In his archaic form, Ares was a fertility god. The pagan content of mythology was codified in the mid-fourteenth century in Boccassio's Genealogy.
Genealogia deorum gentilium, known in English as On the Genealogy of the Gods of the Gentiles, is a mythography or encyclopedic compilation of the tangled family relationships of the classical pantheons of Ancient Greece and Rome, written in Latin prose from 1360 onwards by the Italian author and poet Giovanni Boccaccio.
The next attempt at an equally comprehensive compilation on the subject of mythological genealogy would not come until 1548, when Giglio Gregorio Giraldi published his De deis gentium.
There are a number of ways in which the idea of descent from the gods is used in medieval writings. In some legends individual heroes are said to be sons of gods or descended from a god, like Ares. Rather than literal divine ancestry and divine descent we cl reality… a lived and living connection. As the gods do not appear in isolation, a relationship with Ares, implies one with his closest family – Aphrodite, Zeus and Hera, and their drop lines, including the divine Hermaphrodite.
According to conventional and traditional genealogy, Ares is my 94th gr-grandfather, through Electra, some Trojan kings, Caesars, including Julius, Roman emperors, Iberian aristocracy, and British knights, Colonial immigrants, and frontier pioneers. With a host of other beliefs, all unconsciously pay homage to the strength and courage of their ‘progenitor’ Ares/Mars. Dynamic pioneering energy.
At root, traditional genealogy is an archetypal activity, recapitulating and extending humanity's oldest activities, including the imaginal root. The aesthetic response is an ethical response -- a response of the heart -- that values the ancestors and the genealogical history. Genealogy is thus an archetypal order, an aesthetic construction, and a virtual map of the personal and collective unconscious, reflecting a principle of totality and primordial origins. Traditional genealogy considered these mythological inclusions best-practice, yet it may be more of a psychic than historical "fact"
This does not mean we need to take that literally – historically as fact -- but the connections seem implicit by their nature. Genealogy is another way for us to connect with the gods, and if we are connected to one, we are surely related to others, as well. Jung claimed, “There is no form of human tragedy that does not in some measure proceed from this conflict between the ego and the unconscious.”
Only a Jungian approach to traditional genealogy keeps the historic/mythic gestalt of The World Tree alive as a symbol of wholeness -- a holistic resonant field pattern. According to Jung, trees are a symbolic reference to the self, so family tree is self-defining. As well as our lineage, our ancestors also form a vast symbol chain, rooted in the mythic unconscious and pre-history.
The symbolic function is beyond innate impulse and ideological bias. Through introversion, we are fertilized, inspired, regenerated, and reborn. Self-incubation, self-castigation, and introversion are closely related ideas. Immersion in oneself (introversion) is a penetration into the unconscious, the imaginal world of psyche.
The World Tree is the Axis Mundi of genealogy, a worldwide database of genealogical connectivity. At this point travel and correspondence is made between higher and lower realms. Communication from lower realms may ascend to higher ones and blessings from higher realms may descend to lower ones and be disseminated to all. The spot functions as the omphalos (navel), the world's point of beginning.
The earliest mythologies are of the World-Tree, or Tree of Life. Aspects of the same image, sacred trees are the most common motif from the ancient world. The Tree connects our psychophysical aspects from sub-nuclear to macrocosmic scales. The trunk is the axis of psychic growth that unites Heaven and Earth, spirit and matter.
Indigenous societies tell us that lack of connection to our ancestors is one of our greatest shortcomings, so reclaiming them takes on importance. It gives us model of ‘how’ precisely we are connected, and just how many generations lie between. The further back in time they are, the more we can be certain we share them with most of humanity.
The mythology of our ancestors is as important as their cosmology. We can explore the mystic in ourselves and in our ancestors. Our worldview is the root of our identity and relationship to Nature and our own deep nature. Researching the cosmologies of our direct ancestors in the historical era provides a quick path into dream shamanism, as these ways are still half-remembered. Our common destiny lies beyond any worldview.

"Hephaistos", anthology Harnessing Fire http://holographicarchetypes.weebly.com/hephaistos.html
Iona's Jungian essay on Hephaistos offers a transpersonal view of this holographic godform in daily life:
Holographic Technology of Cosmos: The Cosmos has many faces. From the dawn of time, mankind has taken on and embodied archetypal forms and patterns of behavior, both unconsciously and with spiritual purpose. Such "holographic godforms" define our roles and ways of being, our aspirations and our deepest frustrations. In this application, hologram may be more than a metaphor for the emergence and expression of manifestation. They are vessels that inspire and contain our awe and dictate our emotions.
The concept of a God, archetype or god-form is not necessarily an absolute but appear to be more than metaphorical. Such energy in its channelling is ontological - it informs us how we know what we know. Multidimensional perception of deep natural processes informs our unconscious being and behavior. In the holographic model of consciousness, the processing of mental forms occurs within the context of a part/whole relationship, where the identified part exists within the code of the whole. This paradigm can be applied to the energetic archetypal field.
The interactive dynamics of holographic gods are recounted in myths. They are our motivating factors, operating like cyclic, bipolar and strange attractors within our psyches, shifting our energetic gears. Some forces are more user-friendly than others. There are wisdom keys that help us understand these discrete states of consciousness more fully. They are the substanceless blueprints of all form. Typical correspondences come alive through direct conscious experience. The sight of even one aspect of the hologram is enough to grasp the unity of the macrocosm. Aspects of nature are reflected in our own natures.
Hephaestos, God of the Forge, is the personification of subterranean and terrestrial fire, including human lustiness. The instinctive, libidinous "fire down below" is echoed by the Tarot attribution of the spermatazoic letter Yod, which means "hand" but represents the 'point' of the phallus, particularly the sperm which projects from it. It represents the longing for soul completion, or union through the sexual act. This is reflected in the mythic versions where cuckolded Hephaestos is married to Aphrodite. He also attempts the rape of Athena, but his seed falls to the earth depotentiated. Thus he embodies the betrayed and/or rejected lover.
The Hermit is solitary, but not lonely. When he seeks the antidote for isolation, he wants to seen, touched, reacted to, to be intimately close to another human being. Even that partner cannot walk his path with him, for we can only become self-realized alone. His worship is probably derived from the Vedic god, Agni. His dominion over primal fire ranges from the wild force of volcanic activity to the harnessed fire of metallurgy. He is the archetypal mechanic or engineer. Technological man has inherited his legacy, and his woundedness, and in this regard Hephaestos shares something in common with Prometheus who stole "fire" from the Gods.
Harnessing Fire: A Devotional Anthology in Honor of Hephaestus, Bibliotheca Alexandrina
Bibliotheca Alexandrina is the publishing arm of Neos Alexandria, a syncretic Greco-Egyptian religious group modeled after the ancient city of Alexandria in Egypt.
BA publishes single author and anthology titles dedicated to the Gods and Goddesses of Greece, Egypt, and Rome. Each title contains a variety of poems, short fiction, essays, meditations, rituals, and artwork. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of each title are donated to a worthy charity in the name of the Gods.

THE MODERN ALCHEMIST, Phanes Press
"Not since Carl Jung wrote on inner transformation and alchemy has there been such a revealing, illuminating discussion of this art and its hidden message." ~ Dr. Stanley Krippner, Saybrook Institute
Traditional religions, with their emphasis upon ritual and belief, often fail to meet the spiritual needs of contemporary individuals. Nonetheless, the direct experience of life's sacred dimension yields many positive results for the human personality and inner spirit. A dynamic inner process weaves through our lives whether we notice it or not. We find meaning and healing when we intentionally become conscious of its dynamic. The Modern Alchemist speaks to seekers as an experiential guide to the transformative process which medieval alchemists symbolized as turning "lead into gold" or lower substances into higher ones. Inner change leads to wholeness, integration, and flowering of the total personality. Using the language of depth psychology as well as alchemy, we can actualize our birthright and heighten our consciousness with a more intimate connection to the guiding, nurturing powers of the universe and the "lost" parts of ourselves. This widely acknowledged self-help text on Jungian archetypes uses art prints and text of the 17th century alchemical classic, The Book of Lambspring. The 16 chapters compare and contrast archetypes and alchemical operations, leading to greater self-awareness and psychological transformation from the pits of depression to mystical illumination. The first half deals with the personal unconscious, while the second covers the stages of spiritual enlightenment. Chapter themes include persona, shadow, anima, animus, adversary, great mother, wise old man, marriage of opposites; hero, mana personality, magical child, self or God-image, conception, incubation, rebirth, illumination. http://the-modern-alchemist.iwarp.com/

"I came across The Modern Alchemist a couple of years ago, by "chance", and began devouring it. It's one of those books that carries much more between the lines than the actual words on the page say, though they say plenty. I found in reading it that there were not many spiritual or Jungian principles I hadn't come across before, but reading through it stimulated so much deep inside. My dream work had always been rich, but it got even more productive as I went along. I read through it 4 times over the months, a few pages each night in bed, and the journey was remarkable. I still go back and read more from time to time."

THE MAGICAL & RITUAL USE OF PERFUMES, Destiny Books, Inner Traditions Itn'l
Because of their power to elicit specific responses in the body and psyche, perfumes have, through the ages, occupied an important part in ritual. The Magical and Ritual Use of Perfumes shows how scents can become the very “essence of magic,” providing direct access to the emotional centers of the brain and memory. This book is not only about perfume but one of the best primers on Kabbalistic thought, the Tree of Life and ritual magic that any student could hope for. The kabbalistic theory is clear and useful, including Middle Pillar Excercise. Chapters on on perfume and incense blending include those for pleasing scents and for magical use. For herbal students, the middle of the book is the most rewarding. Every point or path on the Tree of Life is associated with a perfume/incense/scent. Each plant or animal source of that scent is discussed in detail, including synthetic, cruelty free, alternatives to animal scents. For example, the entry on Olibanum, Frankincense cover 3 pages on the history, trade, uses, value, botany, and blending scents. Since every card in a Tarot deck corresponds with a sphere or path on the tree of life, it is also a useful addition to Tarot meditations. A delightful bonus are listings of all the planetary rulers and influences, and their typical correspondences and God-forms. This book is a MUST HAVE for any ritual magician, any student of incense or perfume, Qabalah, magic or aromatherapy. I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in the history and trade of incense and perfume, which makes this a perfect gift for anyone in one in historical re-enactment groups.

Psychedelics Reimagined, Autonomedia (NYC) - "Chaos As the Universal Solvent"
Lyttle, Thomas (Editor) (2000)
Contents: Editor's note, Foreword by Hakim Bey, Introduction by Timothy Leary, 13 unnumbered chapters, periodical and book reviews, networking. Contributors: John W. Allen, Joan Bello, Chris Bennett, Hakim Bey, David Christie, Donald Peter Dulchinos, Philip H. Farber, Jochen Gartz, Dale Gowan, Desmond K. Hill, Timothy Leary, Thomas Lyttle, Paul Meyer, Iona Miller, Bartlett J. Ridge, Lizbeth Rymland, Otto Snow. Psychedelics Reimagined contains articles done in a variety of editorial styles, including the journalistic, the interview, the academic, the biography, and the poetic free-form. Throughout all my books, I have attempted to place the raw against the polished, the dense against the whimsical, and the sophisticated against the naive. For the psychedelic movement and its artists, psychedelics were the question, not the answer. The CIA, and the Illuminati, heard the question, and their answer to the question was NO. Since then, everything that has happened in Babylon (the welter of images and media we believe to be history) - every "event" and all "power" is situated in the cognitive space created by that NO. It is as if that word were a spell, or an anti-drug with its own flood of anti-hallucinations, anti-insights, anti-"vibes. It's the BIG NO concept. Meanwhile, what about the millions of people who answered YES? Current research shows psychedelics like ecstasy are useful in therapeutic situations for PTSD and other intractable problems.
ABSTRACT: There is a generic process in nature and consciousness which dissolves and regenerates all forms. The essence of this transformative, morphological process is chaotic--purposeful yet inherently unpredictable holistic repatterning. The Great Work of the art of alchemy is the creation of the Philosopher's Stone, a symbol of wholeness and integration. The liquid form of the Stone, called the Universal Solvent, dissolves all old forms like a rushing stream, and is the self-organizing matrix for the rebirth of new forms. It is thus a metaphor or model for the dynamic process of transformation, ego death and re-creation.The alchemical operation SOLUTIO, called "the root of alchemy," corresponds with the element water. It implies a flowing state of consciousness, "liquification" of consciousness, a return to the womb for rebirth, a baptism or healing immersion in the vast ocean of deep consciousness. It facilitates feedback via creative regression: de-structuring, or destratification by immersion in the flow of psychic imagery through identification with more and more primal forms or patterns--a psychedelic, expanded state. Chaos Theory provides a metaphorical language for describing the flowing dynamics of the chaotic process of psychological transformation. http://asklepia.tripod.com/Chaosophy/chaosophy3.html

Transhumanism Issue 4: May 2013
Transhumanism (TH) is the movement to use technology (mainly in the areas of life sciences, alternative energies, and computer science) to challenge biological limitations and eventually find solutions to such limitations. It is often linked with the idea that science and technology can be used to continually improve the human condition. Examples of TH include artificial intelligence, cryogenics, space colonization, cloning, medical implants, cyborgs, cognitive enhancement, life extension, defect elimination (form of eugenics) and so on. With its current momentum, TH will directly impact your grandchildren before 2030. We need to intelligently explore and critically assess a wide range of issues directly and indirectly related to TH......and this edition of CRAFT aims to do precisely this. JCER (ISSN: 2153-8212) is a publication in which scientists, philosophers and other learned scholars publish their research results and express their views on the nature, origin and mechanism of consciousness. In doing so, we hope that one day we will be able to arrive at a genuine science of consciousness.
JCER Volume 3 Issue 3 in March 2012 includes the following papers:
Article: Iona Miller, The Nonlocal Mind Paradigm: A Transdisciplinary Revision of Mind-Body in Philosophy, Art & Science.
Article: Iona Miller, How the Brain Creates the Feeling of God: The Emergent Science of Neurotheology.
Article: Iona Miller, The Whole Sum Infinity: Merging Spirituality and Integrative Biophysics.
Article: Iona Miller, Holographic Archetypes: Top Down & Bottom Up Control of Personal & Collective Consciousness.
Article: Iona Miller, Natural Philosophy: Beyond The Undulant Quiescence.
Scientific God Journal -
SGI is not about a particular religion nor is it focused on religious debates. Rather, it is an institution (and publication) where scientists, philosophers, theologians and other learned scholars publish their research results and express their views on the issues outlined herein. In doing so, we hope that one day we will be able to answer scientifically the questions concerning us the most - who are we, where did we come from, where are we going, and, is there a Scientific GOD?

Things often fall apart, but sometimes they fall together in the probability field. Occasionally, improbable things seem to happen all at once, or even backwards and sideways, rather than in rational and linear manner. Synchronicity is a non-linear, non-local process in which the personal and transcendent collide. An integral part of Jung's model of the psyche, the synchronistic phenomenon entered culture as a meme characterizing a variety of bizarre experiences. Psyche mirrors Cosmos. Events can be grouped by meaning as well as cause.
Such transformative points can be life-changing quantum leaps in self-awareness. They defy our attempts whether we explain them to ourselves in terms of science, myth or nature. The issue is one of 'similar things' that seemingly stop the arrow of time dead in its tracks, immersing us in the extraordinary, the uncertain, the mysterious. Jung and Pauli suggested synchronicity is essentially direct insight into the hidden confluence of psyche and matter. It shocks us into broadening our view of the world and the fabric of reality, with its unlikely yet undeniable intrusions on the ordinary.
The synchronistic totality of all conscious and unconscious self-organizing processes has its own holistic psychic structure and dynamic. Psyche and substance are two aspects of more fundamental energy, which forms a universal substrate. The artificial delineation between mind and matter blurs in both the scientific and psychological models. Some synchronicities can originate in "Rapture of the Neurological Deep", yet still retain valuable meaning (Miller, 2003).
Synchronicity is the core of the world and human existence, a special case macroscopic expression of microcosmic entanglement, coherence, and superposition. It is a unique expression of the metaphor-forming process, manifesting as uniquely magical, uncanny or unnerving moments. Repeated engagement with the spectrum of unconscious imagery impacts us resonantly on all levels by molding us with experience, emotion and memory -- the fortuitous meeting, repetitions of themes, the meaning-filled dream, the activation of ancient and modern myths, and odd juxtapositions that stop us dead in our tracks.
Synchronicity explores the borderland between meaning, chaos, and spacetime, where chance meets necessity, when external and internal circumstances align in meaningful coincidence. A peculiar order emerges from randomicity at the creative edge of chaos. Beyond apophenia, simple superstition and psychological projection, it links the observable and unknowable, the effect of the particular and specific with the universal. Not every correlation will have an explanation. In this nonlocal effect, certain qualities manifest relatively simultaneously in different or proximate places. It is a parallelism that cannot be explained causally, but contains meaning and value, and thus the silent resonance between mind, brain, and environment has real effects in the real world. The first effects of warping our perspective are on our attitudes and worldview, which modify our spirituality, thinking, emotions, being and behavior.

Debunking the Bloodline Memes
Prepublication -
http://ionamiller.weebly.com/bloodline-paranoia.html
http://ionamiller.weebly.com/debunking-bloodline.html
Before anyone leaps to meme-like conclusions about 'Reptilians', Anunnaki, Pharaohs, Merovingians, Templars, Gnostics, Illuminati, Pendragons, Desposyni, Cathars, Vikings, ancient aliens, holy blood, grail lines, Davidic descent, god-kings, or "Luciferian consciousness", they might do well to find out if they themselves carry such remnants in their own genes. They may be strangling in their own roots.
This author has traced her own bloodline back to Sumeria, and is an Advisor to DNA Decipher Journal, so speaks from some experience. Genealogy has become the world's biggest hobby, second only to the subject of sex online. The Underground Stream has spawned many underground scenes. Prior to the internet, our inherited connections were the global web of the genetic matrix, concealing many secrets of deep history and psychically linking us to one another.
Like most things, the widely-misunderstood Bloodline "conspiracy" looks different from inside its own culture than it does from outside. Those actively pursuing their own royal genealogies or involved in the numerous organizations, heritage groups, and scenes surrounding its lore often hold radically different viewpoints on the subject than articles generated and endlessly recycled online.

Downwinders
“If we are ever to find our way out of the present deplorable situation, we must remain vigilant, we must continue to challenge and to question, we must insist that the burden of proof is on those who would use these chemicals to prove the procedures are safe.” (“A New Chapter to Silent Spring,” Bulletin of the Garden Club of America, May 1963)
http://ionamiller.weebly.com/downwind.html
Better Living through Chemistry?
As Robert Frost says, the woods are “lovely, dark and deep”, but they hide a deadly secret, rarely known to their inhabitants, much less those who admire their lifestyle.
How much exposure to agents which are toxic in parts-per-million is too much? The answer is, "Any". But pesticides and estrogenic herbicides, the chemical cousins of the notorious Agent Orange, are routinely used in forest management and to spray ditches and roadsides. But whose growth is really being suppressed? Our naturalist aesthetic is the victim of toxic defoliants designed to bend nature to our will. But there are catastrophic consequences to such unsustainable actions, counted in human and environmental degradation.
Dioxin-laden Agent Orange was a 50:50 mixture of 2,4,5-T and 2,4-D manufactured for the U.S. Department of Defense primarily by Monsanto Corporation and Dow. When the Vietnam War failed, systemic toxic agents were turned on the homeland, secretly decimating the American countryside. The stated goal was to accelerate the log rotation cycle by about one third to one-half with clear-cutting and defoliant-assisted tree farm planting. Opponents of such forest management consider these practices a “manufactured reality”, largely benefitting the chemical producers at all costs, including collateral human damage.

Iona Miller’s “Did COINTELPRO & CIA ‘Back Pocket Agents’ Kill Rev. King, Jr.?” echoes Downard’s diagnosis of the American political landscape when she reexamines the murder of one of the Three Kings and says, “Manipulation of the public collective unconscious constitutes Masonic hoodwinking at its best or worst. Whether you think in terms of a shadow government or a government Shadow, we all share responsibility for allowing shadow masters who get away with murder, dreaming mind or no dreaming mind.”

Holographic Archetypes by Iona Miller
http://holographicarchetypes.weebly.com/article.html
"We have not understood yet that the discovery of the unconscious means an enormous spiritual task, which must be accomplished if we wish to preserve our civilization." C.G. Jung
Thinking Big requires a new approach to the way we pursue knowledge about our universe, our lives, and our species. We're still asking life's Big Questions and tackling humanity's Big Problems, but in the context of Big History -- a blend of cosmology, physics, chemistry, geology, biology, anthropology, psychology, sociology, and history. Such a metadisciplinary approach yields a single, unifying, compelling narrative that continues unfolding meaning, purpose, and insight.
Cosmic pattern recognition is the root of human culture from Paleolithic and Neolithic times. Humans have always pursued cosmology. Perhaps the greatest ancient discovery was the Precession of the Equinoxes, a recurrent 26,000 year cycle, leading to the model of astrological Ages and the mytheme of Eternal Return and The Great Year. Jung took an interest in astrology because he found it archetypally predictive.

2011, Alchemy Journal: Embodying Osiris, a Review
http://ionamiller.weebly.com/embodying-osiris.html
Egypt remains a realm of mystery as does the psyche. The ancient land of Egypt is not the same as the eternal sunshine of the Egypt of our modern minds. We can never "embody Osiris" with conceptual processes, but only through fully entering the inherent mystery of alchemical processes that define the rhythms of life we exist in. Emotions effect our DNA, and DNA effects our emotions. Emotions regulate gene-expression.
In this insightful Jungian volume, Dr. Thom Cavalli is likely correct in insisting that "empathic engagement of the god on an imaginal and physical level" is required. In this way only perhaps a more meaningful life springs from death, through a "body" of integrative experience. The Egyptians presumed "death" was not the only option.
As unconscious, Osiris is the paradoxical life/death ground from which integrative impulses arise. His epic ordeals mirror our own. Perhaps the Jungians need alchemy for their articulation of psychic processes more than alchemy needs Jungian models. After all, benchwork went on for millennia without Jung's hermeneutics, but alchemy had its own ways of describing proto-scientific interpretations of phenomena. Still, Jung and Cavalli's categories, homologues, metaphorms and mytho-poetic language broaden our descriptive vocabulary, perhaps helping us articulate the deep meaning of what we see in the vessel.
In the Mystery schools, applicants for the priesthood of Osiris entered the tomb alive to await his light. They spent the night in the coffin, entering through the door of fear to achieve mastery. The initiate in the open sarcophagus was left alone in the darkness of the crypt., feeling the cold of the grave close in. In such a sensory deprivation chamber, perhaps the initiate experienced a life review or began to see colors and lights appear. This illumination was recognized as the light of Osiris, bringing visions. Some aspirants might claim to have conversations with Isis or Osiris. Others might visualize themselves in the land of the dead, walking and talking with departed spirits and receiving special teachings from Osiris before a resurrection.

Summer 2011, Green Egg Issue 155 The Sedona Effect
http://greeneggzine.com/doc/GE155.August%20pdf.pdf
"There is no such thing as a spiritual journey. If there were a spiritual journey, it would be only a quarter inch long, though many miles deep. You do not have to go away outside yourself to come into real conversation with your soul and with the mysteries of the spiritual world. The eternal is at home --within you." --Meister Eckhart
SEDONA SYNCHRONIZATION EXPERIMENTS: Arguably, here is the first scientific proof of Sedona Vortex/Brainwave EEG Synchronization. Further repeatable experiments are still being conducted in Arizona, by Ben Lonetree, using a variety of volunteer subjects. Using magnetometers and EEG, he is recording the synchronous signals of geomagnetic anomalies with human brainwaves. Parameters include Schumann Resonance (amplifies effect), Brainwave frequency and amplitude, and sudden magnetic events from vortex spots. Evoked potentials include high well-being, healing, ESP and other psychophysical phenomena. Fieldtrip Report: http://sedonanomalies.com/brainwave_magnetic_sync.htm

From Helix to Hologram
Iona Miller & Richard A. Miller, ©2004
ABSTRACT: Life is fundamentally electromagnetic rather than chemical, the DNA blueprint functioning as a biohologram which serves as a guiding matrix for organising physical form.
QUANTUM BIOHOLOGRAPHY
A Review of the Field from 1973 - 2002
Iona Miller, Richard Alan Miller, and Burt Webb, ©2002
ABSTRACT: Complex information can be encoded in EM fields, as we all know from coding and decoding of television and radio signals. Even more complex information can be encoded in holographic images. DNA acts as a holographic projector of acoustic and EM information which contains the informational quintessence of the biohologram. Only 3% of human DNA encodes the physical body. The remaining 97% of the 3 billion base pair genome contains over a million genetic structures called transposons, that have the capacity to jump from one chromosomal location to another (Kelleher, 1999). We are 99.9% alike in our genetic legacy. Our individuality is expressed in three million small variations in our cells, called single nucleotide polymorphisms.
Gene-expression is the mechanism by which new patterns are called into being (Rossi, 2000). There is also a strong correlation between modulation of the brain’s EM field and consciousness (Persinger, 1987; McFadden, 2002). The Gariaev group has discovered a wave-based genome and DNA phantom effect which strongly supports the holographic concept of reality (Miller, Webb, Dickson, 1975). This main information channel of DNA is the same for both photons and radio waves. Superposed coherent waves of different types in the cells interact to form diffraction patterns, firstly in the acoustic domain, secondly in the electromagnetic domain -- a quantum hologram -- a translation process between acoustical and optical holograms.

COMING SOON: ZORA VON BURDEN interviews Iona Miller, "From Underground to Under Cover" in WOMEN OF THE UNDERGROUND: ART - Cultural Innovators Speak for Themselves
IONA MILLER: "Many artists anticipated the importance of nonlinear creativity, including James Joyce, Burroughs with his cut up technique, Pollack who’s paintings actually display mathematical chaos, etc. The importance is that artists anticipate both science and social shift, long before it can be articulated. Chaos is iconoclastic; it breaks up the old order and makes way for the new at the creative edge. This edgework is the essence of chaos magic, IMHO - spiritual brinksmanship."
"I have no knowledge of what is now called “chaos magic” and its principles. I only know how I perceive the juxtaposition of chaos theory, process dynamics, and magick. Chaos magic follows the unique trajectory, guided by an unseen Strange Attractor - your inevitable future - with its unpredictable yet inexorable gravity. Your nonlinear “Angel” reaches into the past to pull you into your future."
"So just like one toxic experience can create dysfunction, one strong healing experience can eliminate it. And it can happen using metaphor, epistemological metaphors that emerge from within, i.e. “how you know what you know” and what it is “like”. One has to let go and trust that process to let old patterns dissolve so new ones emerge creatively from the deepest level. The difference in treatment philosophy is that it is brief therapy, not endless analysis."
"The imagery that emerges in this process is spontaneously healing ~ it is not different from the healing, and it is idiosyncratic, very particularized and in no way “programmable”. It cannot be “imported” into a person as in guided visualization. It emerges spontaneously from within and can be deepened further into a waking dream.T his type of experiential therapy is often likened by participants to psychedelic journeys. I have written extensively on this aspect, for example in “Chaos as the Universal Solvent”."
"What I used to tell my psychotherapy clients is true of the art of kabbalah: the method works if you do.It isn’t called the GREAT WORK for nothing, not the Great Dabble, or the Great Party, or the Great Persona, or whatever. It is about the serious business of examining, knowing, and changing yourself at the core level." --Iona Miller, http://www.amazon.com/Women-Underground-Cultural-Innovators-Themselves/dp/1933149337/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1262119006&sr=1-7

Iona: Mystic Isle Between Heaven & Earth. Green Egg #154, Yule 2010.
http://www.greeneggzine.com/Issues/GE_2010_12_Yule.pdf
SACRED SITE: Many holy sites are esteemed around the globe. The sacred isles of Britain have a spiritual role so rich that few comprehend their scope that is so disproportionate to their size. Sacred sites are natural meeting places of heaven and earth. A tiny, nearly barren speck of land, the Scottish island of Iona embodies an astounding holographic record of the span of human civilization, much of which is beyond the scope of this article. Each snippet of a hologram contains a smaller but intact version of the original image. The smallest parts of a hologram contain all the information possessed by the whole, demonstrating that separateness is an illusion. Cosmos is a superhologram, echoing the axiom, “As Above, So Below”.
The "whole in every part" nature of a hologram or fractal provides us with an entirely new way of understanding Iona which has been called “the Mecca of the Gael.” This mystic island was sacred to megalithic, iron and bronze age pagans, Druids and Celtic Christians alike. Windswept Iona is a time machine, a gem in the frigid sea, embedded in “the back of the ocean” like a planetary chakra.
Iona’s holy ground formed as the first oceans were condensing on the blistering hot surface of the earth. These rocks are so old, they contain no fossils. Perhaps the first plants took root in Iona’s thin soil. The island is the oldest rock on Earth, four billion year old remains of the Precambrian ocean’s eruptive spine. Her marble formed under vast heat and pressure. The metamorphic Lewisian gneiss shot through with green serpentine has resisted the relentless blue-foaming dragon of the devouring sea that eats up the land. Much of the island itself is highly-conductive and charged quartz, often said to enhance healing, telepathy, remote viewing, dreaming, and superconsciousness or store subtle information or energy. There are unseen things here that are eternal. From the mainland, the spiritually magnetic isle often appears like a mirage.
Iona is the “motherland of dreams”, the ethereal ground of imagination and ground zero of Druid culture. Its spell draws us into its center. Iona’s old Gaelic name Innis nan Druidhneach translates as the Island of the Druids. Their motto was Y Gwir Erbyn Y Byd (“Truth Against the World”). These Servants of Truth held greater power than the kings who took advice from them: All of nature was sacred to them and they were its students and stewards.
These seers and overlords understood the workings of Nature and our nature. To the male and female Druids and their predecessors, the “Shining Ones,” (Siddhe, Fairies), the dead live through visions in dreams, more so for those in one’s own lineage. In Druid lore myth is not plot, but image; not action, but rhythm; not character, but ghosts. Images animate the soul with guidance from higher dimensions. Alba or ‘light’ is the Gaelic name for Scotland and Iona is her most ancient and holy capital. The island Iona is the shape of a dove and curiously its name even means 'dove' in Hebrew, though it was named after the pioneering spirit, St. Columba, “the dove of the church”. The Rosarium Philosophorum equates the dove with heavenly light. Young visionaries, virginal children used as oracles or channels, are also called “Doves” in the magic tradition.
Iona’s colorful history is related to sea gods, King Arthur and Merlin, the Grail stories, St. Brighid and the Goddess -- Sophia, Virgin of the Light, the archetypal soror mystica. Its mystery and magic includes tales of Templars, elves, fairies, and pixies; the Sidhe or People of the Hills, Tuatha De Daanan. Angels’ Hill on Iona is associated with supernatural beings.
Iona was always an island of mystics and scholars. Iona’s most ancient Gaelic or Pictish name is Ioua. The name, (a corruption of early Gaelic Ii-shona, pronounced, Ee-hona; the 's' in Gaelic is silent before an aspirate), is steeped in multidimensional mystique that can be gradually unfolded in physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual metaphors. But it is more than a metaphor to be unraveled like a Scottish yarn. Indeed, an exciting and illuminating journey to the "heart of Iona" is a soulful initiatory journey into myth and eternity. Our journey does not have an ordinary aim.

Green Egg, #152, "Pineal DMT" by Iona Miller
What do imaginative children, passionate lovers, dreamers, psychonauts, telepaths, bliss-bunnies, UFO abductees, shamans and neo-shamans, birthing mothers and babies, near-death experiencers, and schizophrenics have in common? The same thing Tibetan, Taoist and Kabbalistic masters, meditators, mystics and religious prophets share. Their brains are flooded with natural psychedelic pineal secretions that tenaciously cling to their synaptic junctions, electrifying their whole being with multisensory virtual stimuli, experiential beliefs and delusions about the nature of reality.
The resonant buzzing of our own bioelectronic Third Eyes can awaken latent metaprogram circuits, leaving us virtually blinded by compelling mind-altering hallucinations. In extraordinary circumstances, chemical brainstorms of scintillating multidimensional visionary Light are generated in our own craniums producing demons, divinities, aliens, oceanic ecstasies, death/rebirth, and time distortion. This hyperdelic retinal circus is your brain on the natural high, DMT.
This spiritual supercharge, revealed in all wisdom literature, has been sought by cultures from Egypt and Asia to the Americas, from Druids to Tibetan lamas, and now in modern science. Psychedelic alchemist, Sasha Shulgin claims, “DMT is everywhere,” in nature. Seekers have ceremonially emptied or exhausted their mindbodies, using plant or animal products, spiritual technologies, sensory deprivation, social isolation, fasting and ordeals, rhythmic chanting, drumming, even sex, to hasten and drive the neurological illumination.
"In 1941 a group of psychiatrists at the Tavistock Clinic saw that the right questions were asked in Parliament in order to secure the means to try new measures. As a result they were asked to join the Directorate of Army Psychiatry, and did so as a group." –Tavistock Institute
Worldview Warfare: They wind you up because they know what makes you tick. Tavistock Clinic studied shellshock (post-traumatic stress) in WWI but switched to developing psychological warfare in 1922. Rather than helping traumatized soldiers, it calculated their breaking points. Tavistock shock doctrine now permeates global life. Their social engineers are a Who’s Who: Freud, Jung, Adler, Melanie Klein, Wilfred Bion, Edward Bernays, Eric Trist, A.K. Rice, Eric Miller, Aldous Huxley, R.D. Laing, and more. Tavistock sent German-born psychologist, Kurt Lewin, to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1945 to establish the Research Center for Group Dynamics in the US. Lewin is the founder of 'social psychology.' The Center moved to the University of Michigan in 1948 where it became the Institute for Social Research, and continued to co-opt legitimate psychosocial research and exploit mass psychology. http://paranoiamagazine.com

PARANOIA READER #2, 2011 - "Did COINTEL PRO & CIA Backpocket Agents Kill MLK?"
Forthcoming in January, 2011 http://paranoiamagazine.com
Governmental agencies caused Martin Luther King to be assassinated... They caused this whole thing to happen. And they then proceeded with the powerful means at their disposal to cover this case up. This is a conspiracy... and that's a nasty word. Let justice and truth prevail, else the heavens fall . . . send a message to all of those in power, all of those who manipulate justice in this country that you cannot get away with this. Or if you can get away with it, you can only get away with it for so long." ~Dr. William F. Pepper, closing argument, King Family v. Loyd Jowers and Other Unknown Co-conspirators, December 8, 1999.
Whitewashed Black Leader: Big questions remain that haunt our nation. Issues from the 1960’s will not die, despite the fact that the icons of the “Triple K Assassinations” have been gone for decades. The deaths of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King were tragic milestones. We still grieve, are confused, depressed and angry. The national wounds inflicted on the body politic by assassinations refuse to heal because we have been given band aid remedies instead of digging down to root out the infection that contaminates the American government. The MLK files remain sealed, not scheduled for declassification until 2028. James Earl Ray, a drifter and ex-convict, shot and killed the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a single bullet at the Lorraine Motel on an April evening in 1968. That is the official story and the reason Ray spent his last three decades in prison. Everybody knows it. But not everyone accepts the “lone gunman” theory. Almost as soon as Dr. King was cut down — and more after Ray recanted his guilty plea — conspiracy theories proliferated.

#44 "Blinded by the DMT Light"
http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_9.html
Until roughly age 8, we can’t really distinguish between fantasy and reality, due to our own natural hallucinogen, DMT, (dimethyltryptamine). DMT molecules are similar to serotonin and target the same receptors. Meditation has been suggested as a means of preserving youthful appearance and mental flexibility. Dr. Rick Strassman and others claim this spiritual technology encourages production and release of natural DMT (Soma Pinoline) in the mindbody throughout the lifespan. DMT is implicated in the wild imaginings of our nightly dreams, near-death phenomena (NDEs), alien abduction experiences, and dream yoga. It is also a source of visionary phenomena in therapy, such as unusual psychophysical states attained in waking dreams, shamanic or psychotherapeutic journeys. Synthetic and botanical DMT crosses the blood-brain barrier and bonds to the same synaptic sites as serotonin. Psychedelic chemist, Sasha Shulgin claims, “DMT is everywhere.”

Microphysics wizard, Col. Thomas E. Bearden knows the secret of creation. This remarkable engineer has worked in the space program and science intelligence. But his claim to fame comes from free energy research. He is the master of Nothing. He resonates with Nothing. Like any good magician, he can theoretically produce anything out of thin air—in fact, the thinnest air, a pure vacuum. The dynamic vacuum and its emanations are the unintegrated center of 21st Century physics. Focus is on the threshold where nothing becomes something, the elusive interface of psyche and matter. This light speed target is Zero Point Energy (ZPE), which hints that maybe we can get something for nothing by turning the Void inside out.

How can we regain control of our own behavioral choices rather than feeding the Pavlovian system of forced choices, called ‘channeling’? Part of the answer is to bother to educate yourself: “Just Say Know.” Know what game is being played on you and the rules of engagement. The name of the game is Power and Control -- how to take it and your resources from you. Social power is the ability to manipulate others. This is why personal empowerment has become such an issue in our society. We feel we have so little. That fosters self-blame, guilt and erodes self-esteem as well as the will to fight back or stick up for yourself. You are classified by the Controllers as Compliant, Passive Resistant, Active Resistant (Activist), Assaultive (Radical), or Lethal (Terrorist). Make no mistake, a very intentional War for Your Mind is being waged on all fronts: social, political, financial, and spiritual. Rules of Engagement (ROE) determine where, when and how force will be used.
#50 "Dune Meme"
http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_11.html
Earth is becoming more and more like DUNE, the desert planet. Petrocollapse, economic and climatic meltdown means class war, drought, food and water shortages. Humanity battles for survival with OILogarchy, full-spectrum mind control, ubiquitous drugs, religious cults, imperialism, face-dancing spooks, corporate feudalism, elitist families, secret societies, would-be saviors, AI, clones, genetic manipulation and Jihad. Frank Herbert called it decades ago. But where is our mything link, our Dune Messiah? Dune focuses on the dynamics of power and the mass manipulation of unconscious dynamics, of the mythic dimension. The unique feature of Dune's messianic superhero, Paul Atreides, was his ability to see, shape, and intentionally build the future from the zero point of a cosmic maelstrom. In an almost prescient anticipation of chaos theory and complexity, Dune explores the influential introjection of the unforeseen critical element, tipping-points and intergalactic butterfly effects. For the superhero, spice brings a reversal of fate that blinds the normal eyes even as it opens hyperdelic vision and consumes all semblance of humanity. The water of life makes a mythic mystic of the man, initiating him at the cosmic zero point where all timelines and all mass motivations of the Collective Unconscious can be sensed in the ultimate probability cloud. It is a mind-blowing experience. They say that, "He who controls the spice controls the universe." But the fact is spice controls everything and everybody in the Duniverse.

"Schumann's Resonance and Human Physiology"
http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_6.html
Electrical engineer Lewis B. Hainsworth, MA, was among the first to suggest that human health is linked with geophysical parameters by way of the naturally occurring Schumann's ELF. His hypothesis identified naturally occurring features which determine the frequency spectrum of human brain-wave rhythms: The frequencies of naturally occurring electromagnetic signals, circulating in the electrically resonant cavity bounded by the Earth and the ionosphere, have governed or determined the 'evolution' or development of the frequencies of operation of the principal human brain-wave signals. In particular, the alpha rhythm is so placed that it can in no circumstances suffer an extensive interference from naturally occurring signals. Hainsworth concluded that the frequencies of human brain-waves evolved in response to these signals. If his hypothesis is correct, conditions for evolutionary changes in human brain-wave patterns have now been established. Furthermore, variations in these patterns can produce mild to disastrous health and behavioural changes.
"Voice of the Planet" - Our Climate Dead or Alive?
http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_5.html
We propose, that the Schumann resonance (SR) may be the substrate for a radar-type extrasensory perception mechanism common to all living beings. Like water bouncing off of rocks and other submerged objects, this non-specific frequency is absorbed and re-radiated in unique interference patterns by all objects it encounters. This interference pattern is a composite of external and internal properties, as the constituent atoms, molecules and their global assembly all re-transmit this energy according to their specific configurations. Not only that, but the “sounding waves” can be frequency and pattern modulated by conscious intent in order to yield specific information (interference patterns). Decoded by the brain they return almost instantly on the “back” of the Schumann Resonance.Once recaptured, the patterns are then decoded by the brain. In this Fourier-type transformation the information is translated into conscious data, much like other sensory processing. Conversely, specific effects may be imprinted as bioinformation and made to exercise a "mysterious action at a distance", once the signal wave reaches the target. That pattern, in turn, may, under the right ("pre-requisite") global conditions, avoid routine dissipation and become instead coupled to the dominating ("state-of-consciousness") standing wave that is picked up and carried by the Schumann resonance. Mental intent may function as a variable window of transmission/reception in the exchange of extrasensory information. Tuned into the Schumann resonance, it may carry such bio-regulating information to distant targets and act as a primitive, radar-type sensory interface. All these and more mechanisms depend on the SR frequencies staying within their median range.
"DNA: Helix to Hologram"
http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_8.html
Russian research in genetics led scientists to begin looking experimentally at the helical structure of DNA as a possible holographic “projector” of the DNA code. Thus, the existential blueprint described by the spiral staircase of DNA is translated into a complex EM field that guides the molecular growth of the organism. Miller et al. suggested as much three decades ago, and outlined possible mechanisms of this quantum biohologram at both the cellular and whole organism level. This process emerges from a domain more fundamental than the standard genetic code triplet model. Biophysics can now describe how our form emerges directly from the void, the vacuum substructure. In essence, we emerge from the cosmic void— pre-geometrically-structured nothingness. DNA is the projector of that field which sets up the stress gradients in the vacuum sub-structure to initiate dynamic unfolding. Genes function as holographic memories of the existential blueprint. Chromosomes can transform their own genetic-sign laser radiations into broadband genetic-sign radio waves. This is the main information channel of DNA, the same for both photons and radio waves. Superposed coherent waves of different types in the cells interact to form diffraction patterns, first in the acoustic domain and then in the electromagnetic domain. The quantum hologram is the matrix of the translations between acoustical and optical holograms. The human biocomputer can be modeled through the marriage of quantum mechanical and complex dynamics.
"Siren Song of the Earth"
http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_7.html
The Earth calls to each and every one of us with her pulsating siren song, desiring us as we desire Her, commanding our biology as only She can. Electrical Engineer, Ben Lonetree is an artist as well as a scientist – a natural philosopher -- one of the few people on the planet who can detect and read natural earth signals in, on and through the atmosphere and Earth. He is a deeply spiritual person with a resonating mind who likes to call these signals “Mother Earth’s Voice,” and he means it in a thoroughly literal manner. Each of the seven Schumann Resonances occupies a bandwidth of 1 Hz. In other words, each of the resonances are 1 Hz. wide: 7.83 Hz, 14 Hz, 21 Hz, 26 Hz, 33 Hz, 39 Hz, 45 Hz. I have observed and recorded the clipping action others have speculated on. Rather than the heartbeat of Earth itself, which is 10 Hz, I call this the “voice or song of the planet”. Ben recounts his scientific studies on EM anomalies in Sedona, Arizona.

GREEN EGG - "The Dodecahedral Universe"
“An analysis of astronomical data suggests not only that the universe is finite, but also that it has a specific, rather rigid topology (dodecahedral sphere). If confirmed, this is a major discovery about the nature of the universe.” -George F. R. Ellis, “The Shape of the Universe,” Nature, Vol 425, October 9, 2003
Plato informs us in his Republic: “Geometry rightly treated is the knowledge of the Eternal,” and he is reported by Plutarch to have said that “God is always geometrizing.” Nor was the conception of the Universe in the form of the Dodecahedron unknown to Plato, for in his Timaeus this idea is clearly indicated. --Frater Achad, Anatomy of the Body of God
Sacred Geometries: Imagine that hundreds or even thousands of years ago, mystics anticipated the astounding findings of modern science by looking deeply within themselves to plumb the mysteries of the universe. The ancient doctrine of Kabbalah says that its teachings about the nature of creation were given to Abraham in the form of wisdom and sacred geometries by an angel of God. Ten spheres or subtle dimensions of existence emanated in a geometrical pattern from the veils of negative existence, ranging from archetypal Kether through the Causal and Astral levels to Malkuth, the physical plane. Current research may bear out some kabbalistic assertions about the cosmos. Recent discoveries by French cosmologists have led them to believe that the universe is finite with a regular dodecahedral or soccer-ball shape, which is omnitriangulated and omnisymmetrical with 20 vertices. This contrasts markedly with the flat, infinite “Standard Model”. In the 1920’s, Hermetic magician Charles Stansfield Jones, known as Frater Achad, experimented with 3-D projections of the kabbalistic Tree of Life. The Tree of Life diagram is a key provided initiates to unlock the more comprehensive geometry of creation. When he modeled the Tree as emanating from a single point in six directions, he found the projections culminated in a dodecahedron.http://sacredgeometry.50megs.com/custom2.html

Alchemy Journal (Australia) - "Anima Mundi: Soul-Filled World"
http://www.alchemyjournal.com/
"Search the anima mundi means to me across the world as a tribal hunter ... a gold digger. Means to scrutinize everything carefully and 'divine' as it says, the specific genius loci. To do this we must be sensitive to the representations of the world ... " (James Hillman, The pleasure of thinking)
"Let us imagine the anima mundi neither above the world encircling it as a divine and remote emanation of spirit, a world of powers, archetypes, and principles transcendent to things, nor within the material world as its unifying panpsychic life-principle. Rather let us imagine the anima mundi as that particular soul-spark, the seminal image, which offers itself through each thing in its visible form. Then anima mundi indicates the animated possibilities presented by each event, as it is, its sensuous presentation as face bespeaking its interior image--in short, its availability to imagination, its presence as a psychic reality. Not only animals and plants ensouled as in the Romantic vision, but soul is given with each thing; God-given things of nature and man-made things of the street." ~James Hillman, “Anima Mundi,” Spring, 1982
NUMINOUS & LUMINOUS PSYCHE: Anima Mundi, the feminine principle or mode of Being was historically considered the "soul of the world," the fertility of human, animal and plant life. Renaissance philosopher Giordano Bruno said the World Soul “illumines the universe and directs nature in producing her species in the right way.” She is the magical world of creative mystery. Our geocentric understanding of ourselves has expanded to the realization that we are an intrinsic part of Cosmos. The Universe is also literally within us. No longer limited merely to our planet, Anima Mundi is the personification of the whole natural world – the Universe. This light, the dynamic reality of the energy field, is within us as within everything. Embodied nature is the link between the archetypal and formative worlds, the hyperdimensional matrix of eternal patterns with sacred proportions and unique manifestations. She is also infinite potential, the possibility of bringing creative ideas to birth, to manifestation. In the deepest sense, she is the universal wave function, the unmanifest ground of our being, spacetime and the radiant light of virtual photon fluctuation, which underlies all matter and manifestation. http://ionamiller2009.iwarp.com/whats_new_37.html

HUNTERGATHERESS - "St. Germain Triangle Book Decoded"
http://paranoiamagazine.com
ST. GERMAIN’S TOP SECRET CODE REVEALED
St. Germain had The Secret. That secret became a legacy of Manly Palmer Hall (MPH) and his Philosophical Research Society (PRS). It was his supreme treasure, which he kept safely hidden in his vault. The two parchment cipher texts now reside in the Getty Research Institute, likewise deep in their library vaults. This wisest adept in Europe reserved his greatest gift for his wisest companions. St. Germain recorded his version of The Secret for health, wealth and long life in his legendary TRIANGLE BOOK, and apparently made copies for his closest circle of initiates. But it seems the entire secret was never entrusted to a single individual, as the copies of the book are curiously not identical, containing different illustrations. We might deduce that to properly work the formulae in the book, one required the Emblems and Sigils it described. Is this why Manly Palmer Hall possessed two copies of the book, each with different glyphs? It begs the point, were there other copies with even more illustrations required to initiate the whole current -- to attain magical immortality? What we know is that both St. Germain and Manly Palmer Hall lived to a ripe old age and remained mentally vibrant. Can this obscure arcane text -- one of the rarest occult manuscripts -- be the secret of their longevity? The book is alleged to be Egyptian in origin. Hall can be seen with the book in a portrait, which appears as frontpiece in his Freemasonry of the Ancient Egyptians. Possibly the first time, the text translation appears publically here with the withheld 5 illustrations of the two copies. Even in the originals, it is difficult to make out the precise glyphs of the sigils, but arguably their magical potency is intact. Sigils and emblems often contain hidden meanings, since they are visual shorthand, which can be "read" for their symbolism. Carl Jung used this method as the traditional basis of his alchemically inspired psychology. Secrets have a way of keeping themselves, even when hiding in plain sight. The quality of these reproductions is limited by the photographic slides of the originals. They were taken during the 1970s surreptitiously in the PRS vault. http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_13.html

HUNTERGATHERESS - "Manifest Destiny Manifesto"
http://paranoiamagazine.com
We can create an evolutionary politics to build a more creative future. Calculated cycles of commodification and scarcity, business and war have driven the military/industrial complex and the multinational corporate climate. Cover Ups and confusion have paralyzed us into apathy where nothing significant can be trusted, believed or known. One percent of humanity controls 40% of global wealth. But we can empower ourselves to resist status quo politics and shape ourselves a better destiny - a 21st century Manifest Destiny that fulfills our positive spiritual potential. If we don't want a dark future for humanity, we must reinvent ourselves and our culture from the foundation upwards. Even if that is fantastically radical, it can still happen, one inspired person at a time and cascade toward a visionary approach to large-scale societal transformation that heals personal and global socioeconomical scars. Competent citizenry can learn to implement constructive visions for our collective planetary future. Deep and broad visions can stimulate reflection and lively discussion of contemporary solutions that can become the scaffolding for action plans from the community level upwards. A courageous and truly integrated vision would include a detailed strategy for a vibrant and life-sustaining future. Individually and collectively we have to redefine what it means to thrive with more compassion for others, not just survive. The paradigm needs to switch from "dog eat dog" to "we're all in it together." http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_14.html

The Art of Fetish, Gartel (2007) - Epilogue: “Cyberotica in Technoshamanism"
Art is a kind of innate drive that seizes a human being and makes him its instrument. The artist is not a person endowed with free will who seeks his own ends, but one who allows art to realize its purposes through him. As a human being he may have moods and a will and personal aims, but as an artist he is” man" in a higher sense -- he is 'collective man' -- one who carries and shapes the unconscious, psychic life of mankind.” –C. G. Jung
Beyond the Forbidden: Are there things we should not know? There are many responses to the impulse toward experience. We pass through the essential stage of experience on the way to wisdom. But it remains a stage, not an end in itself. Religion generally answers yes to the question, while philosophy answers no. Sex, death, and religion are the three taboos to question. They are also the most interesting subjective experiences to examine, and for the artist, moreso. Freud contrasted sex and death as Eros and Thanatos. Are there things we shouldn’t know about the erotic impulse? Are there things we shouldn’t know about the relationship of death and religion? Sex and death are givens of our existence, and so is the spiritual instinct. Experiential awareness of these domains is gnosis, direct knowing. If no one is allowed to venture into the forbidden we cannot know what it is like. If no one is allowed to talk about, or represent it, sexuality becomes a dirty secret, surrounded by fear and shame. http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_23.html

DER GOLEM (Germany) - "Virtual Magic"
We are entering an era of magical technologies which are relevant to the inner world of imagery and imagination. Through Virtual Reality (VR) we can create an electronic representation of typical symbols of the psyche and interact with them. Even though these images have no concrete existence, they are influential in the process of transformation. The practice of magick, a sacred technology, normally involves concentrated visualization activity coupled with immersion in the autonomous stream of consciousness. Since much of the training and practice in magick is based on a recipe, formula, or protocol, these could easily be programmed, using virtual reality, to guide an aspirant into a specific state of consciousness. Biofeedback monitoring could enhance that state. * Each virtual world would include a panoply of symbols related to a specific archetype. The aspirant would journey through this world. In the process of positive interaction with these archetypal forms (or perhaps imaginally becoming them), the psyche becomes "inoculated" with their resources. A conscious relationship is fostered. This leads to a greater sense of wholeness and communion with transpersonal energies. Through the arrival of Virtual Reality (VR) technology, we will soon have access to a fully programmable electronic "astral plane." Magic has always been a sacred technology, and combining it with VR makes for a state-of-the-art practice. In virtual reality, we can create a world which is, in essence or effect, "as good as" normal reality. Through the use of visual, audial, kinesthetic, and olfactory feedback, the experiential (rather than analytical) part of the brain is guided to suspend its disbelief in the synthetic reality. The realization of a system of interactive fantasy will allow us, as artists or magicians, to shape the experience from the inside. It will allow us to re-shape ourselves, also. A central premise in VR is that you can manipulate your self-representation, or self-image. VR represents a cultural revolution in the way we view reality, nature, art, ourselves, and our relationship with transpersonal powers. Interactive media will give us the ability to author moving images. When you can put your images in cyberspace, you introduce your own unique content into the experience. Background, or natural imagery, will be texture-mapped for ambiguity. Ambiguity is one key to the engagement of the imagination (Laurel, 1992). Communal virtual reality is also possible for group rituals, but requires a tremendously powerful computer to keep track of all the details which perpetuate a believable virtual space. The realm of imagination has traditionally been the province of shamans and magicians. More recently, psychotherapists have entered the arena of imagination as guides to the heights and the depths. There are many different styles in the practice of magic from primitive to sophisticated. Magic is the ancient technology for dealing with lost or questing souls, while archetypal psychology is a modern counterpart. http://zero-point.tripod.com/vrmagick.html
ANTIBOTHIS (Portugal) - "NeoCon's Agony & Sasha's Ecstasy"
The passing in 2008 of Albert Hoffman at 102 years old leaves psychedelic alchemist Dr. Alexander Shulgin (b. 1925 -) as arguably the most eminent living scientist in the entheogen arena. This pioneer is a hero of counterculture but has he been “sleeping with the enemy” all these decades? His work history spans employment by corpoglomerate chemical firms involved in biological warfare, to shadowy black ops backers. Shulgin also enjoys the politically dubious distinction of being a member of The Bohemian Club of global elites, partaking in the annual revels at Bohemian Grove. How is it this psychedelic chemist has crossed cultural lines from the ivory tower to Chemical Corps firms, to the roots of psychedelia, to rubbing elbows with the transnational meta-controllers of The Grove? Shulgin remains an ambiguous character with a career arc that cuts an influential mercurial path through the psychedelic scene. We might call him the “Einstein of psychoactive compounds,” creating over 200 psychedelic compounds he tested on himself. World-famous chemist, Dr. Alexander “Sasha” Shulgin holds at least 17 US pesticide and drug patents. Edgewood Arsenal scheduled his synthetic pot for use as a military weapon but it also escaped into local high schools and parts unknown in the late 1960s. There must be some agony when skullduggery control-freaks lose control over their targets. According to the memoir of retired Colonel James Ketchum, M.D. Chemical Warfare: Secrets Almost Forgotten (2006), military mind meddlers wanted a nonlethal incapacitating agent that would dissolve the will to resist, and funding for chemical weaponry and mind control was readily available in the early 60s. Other “incapacitating” experimental drugs of the era included LSD, PCP, STP, MDA, DMT, BZ and Ritalin. Various agencies tested these brainstorms on witting and unwitting victims, and then they escaped the handlers. One morning, Ketchum arrived at his office in Edgewood and found "a large, black steel barrel, resembling an oil drum, parked in the corner of the room," he recounts in his book. Overcome by curiosity, he opened the barrel and examined its contents. There were a dozen tightly sealed glass canisters that looked like cookie jars; the labels on the canisters indicated that each contained about three pounds of "EA 1729," the Army's code number for LSD. By the end of the week, the 40 pounds of government acid -- enough to intoxicate several hundred million people -- vanished as mysteriously as it had appeared. Ketchum still doesn't know who put the LSD in his office or what became of it. http://ionamiller2010.iwarp.com/whats_new_42.html
ANTIBOTHIS (Portugal) "PANDROGYNY: The YabYummy Way of Imagination"
“The modern androgyne, seeking only self-realization, forfeits the energy of opposition and conflict.” - Camille Paglia, Sexual Personae
A LOVE STORY OF GENDER REUNION: This is a stream of unconsciousness essay on the Self, illustrated by the kaleidoscopic sexual personae of GENESIS P-ORRIDGE. Always the mercurial Magician, Gen has been associated with the art and decadence of the Thelemic, industrial, punk, Goth, and rave movements, and was arguably the earliest proponent of acid house. His bands have ranged from hard-edged Throbbing Gristle to ethereal Psychic TV to avant-garde Thee Majesty. Never one to commune in solitude, all these eras of the artist, priest and shaman have fused into the orgiastic seizure of family-band PTV3. Now he gladly shares center stage with the group, including wife Lady Jaye, daughter Genesse, and bandmates, forming a cohesive unit to rock the house. This is a personal and critical triumph for the artist, whose daemonic career stalled somewhat after his tragic injuries in an infamous Hollywood fire at the former home of mega-magician, Harry Houdini. In the alchemical transformation process, fire is the Bath of Immortality; the calcinatio fire tempers emotions, mind and body. Fire symbolizes libido, not at all separate from sexuality. The movement is from auto-erotic, to personal power-seeking, to refined transpersonal consciousness. Frustration is the initiatory ordeal. The fires of desire are transmuted. The miraculous water, aqua divina or permanens, was extracted from the lapis, or prima materia through the torment of the fire. The water stands for the anima mundi imprisoned in matter. This stage represents the expansion of consciousness after a crisis in development. This crucible of chemical breakdown created a Phoenix-like opportunity for a remixing of elements, a new chapter of the sexual metathesis. Mind and body, perturbed by the chaos of a turbulent inner life, relinked in a transformation of prima materia through a luminous rebirth. In alchemy, both the primal matrix and finished product (Philosopher’s Stone) are hermaphroditic, an androgyne, and rebis (double thing). http://www.popocculture.com/37/pandrogeny-the-yab-yummy-way-of-imagination

POP OCCULTURE - GREEN EGG ZINE #152 - "Soma Pinoline: Blinded by the DMT Light"
Pop Occulture Magazine is an online magazine for anyone whose religion is media. When it comes to music, books and movies, we have an almost spiritual devotion to pop culture, to the creative people behind it, and to everybody whose lives are touched by it.
We are hardwired to seek pleasure, to seek ecstasy. As children we expressed our authentic, core selves – that which can neither be taught nor learned. But the whole “self-help” and “new age” movements are based on trying to get back that golden state of innocence, childlike wonder and awe with spiritual connection. When religion suggests we “become as little children” again, who could imagine this implies a shamanic return to the womb and the natural psychedelic state of an uncalcified pineal gland? In early childhood, we are perpetually immersed in cascades of trance-inducing theta rhythms of the brain, with the feel-good chemical brew it creates for metaprogramming. Psychedelic chemist, Sasha Shulgin claims, “DMT is everywhere.” http://www.popocculture.com/50/soma-pinoline-blinded-by-the-light

POP OCCULTURE - "Lydia Lunch: Beyond the Pale"
“The dread and resistance which every natural human being experiences when it comes to delving too deeply into himself is, at bottom, the fear of the journey to Hades.”- C. G. Jung, Psychology and Alchemy, CW 12: 439
“The Hades within Dionysus says that there is an invisible meaning in sexual acts, a significance for the soul in the phallic parade, that all of our life force, including the polymorphic and pornographic desires of the psyche, refer to the underworld of images.”-James Hillman, The Dream and the Underworld, p. 45
Hades and Depth: The imagorrhea, or through-flow of images with a hint of unpalatability, in “ Memory and Madness ” evokes mythic impressions of a soul perpetually held in thrall unable to escape the Hell of sex, violence, madness, obsession, and addiction. Myth doesn’t ground; it opens. Depth is a metaphor without a base. The depth of the simplest image is fathomless. When we go deep, soul becomes involved. The same themes repeat endlessly rotating in a myriad of variations, in different octaves of outrage and screams. Plato said souls in Hades are incurable. Yet, Lydia Lunch somehow embodies the ability to intentionally transgress the boundaries – to go beyond the pale of convention. For this among other reasons, she is referred to as the “queen of the underground.” In the soul’s labyrinth we can never go deep enough. Like the Queen of the Underworld, Persephone, Lydia moves at will between the conscious and the unconscious depths – a foot in both the world of the living and world of the dead. The fundamental image of the underworld is of a contained space with shrouded limits. The underworld is a psychological cosmos. The underground is a lifestyle and subculture undergird with and sustained by psychic imagery. Persephone’s mythic consort is Hades-Dionysus. She yearns for depth, mating with the fearsome cold intelligence of Hades. Hades and Dionysus are the same (Heraclitus), implying an indissoluble link with trances, altered states, madness, intoxication, even addiction, and yet vitality, passion, hedonism. He rules the amoral realm of non-process. Our very essence is contained in our circular states of repetitiveness. Time has nothing to do with the underworld. http://popocculture.50megs.com/whats_new_1.html

The True Meaning of the da Vinci Code, Pope (2005) Science-Art (Australia) "The Diamond Body"
By adhering to a mechanistic worldview, Western civilization is on a path to extinction, says Science-Art philosopher Robert Pope. The ancient knowledge passed on by the Greeks upheld a survival science, a “Savior science” that was misinterpreted by Leonardo da Vinci but was privately understood by Isaac Newton. Da Vinci was an “Unbalanced genius” according to Professor Pope, and by “inadvertently” obscuring the “principle of creation” he helped bring into existence a mechanistic mindset that is now accelerating a global crisis of destruction. He made the ultimate mistake by suggesting that all of the universe could be made visible to human perception, and yet the Greeks, and other ancients before them, identified with a universal reality in which harmonious, invisible atomic movement generated divine wisdom. In response to popular novels like Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, Pope hopes to set the record straight by returning to the atomistic philosophy of the ancient Greek scholars such as Plato and Philo. Plato’s worldview is much more akin to a holographic reality, Pope argues. The “true meaning of the code”, he suggests, relates to atomic movement creating evolutionary wisdom, and he points out some classic examples of Renaissance art that communicate this truth. Furthermore, he says, the quest of the Knights Templar was bound up in ensuring that the wisdom of this code would not be lost. In this escapade through the philosophies of the ages, Pope reassesses our technocentric society and posits a better way to achieve true democracy and peace. -Review, Nexus Magazine, Sept-Oct, 05, p. 72

Journal of the Interdisciplinary Crossroads (India) - "The Demiurgic Field"
In an age of ever growing numbers of disciplines as a result of
cross-disciplinary fertilization, there is a need for new ways of connecting
ideas, insights and experiences. JIC invites scholarly contributions from
different areas of study and regions to meet at the interdisciplinary
crossroads for a meaningful dialogue and understanding.
One of the objectives of the journal is to provide an open forum for
scholars who appreciate plurality of ideas and approaches. The scope of the
journal is global rather than regional. It is the interconnection of all
ideas from all cultural traditions that is being promoted towards developing
a holistic perspective and a better understanding of humankind.
The journal maintains a right balance between generality and specificity. By
emphasizing the importance of exploratory crossroads in search of new
vision, it defines interdisciplinarity as a means towards achieving a
possible goal of creating new metaphor(s), new frontiers of knowledge and
new language(s) of interconnection rather than fragmentation.
The journal encourages them to unfold freely with every creative intervention of authors
and readers. It is an all-encompassing journal catering to the interests of
faculty and research students of all areas of study.
THE DEMIURGIC FIELD: Its Patterning Role in Chaos, Creation, and Creativity
By Iona Miller (USA) and Paul Wildman, Ph.D. (AUST.)
Abstract: The pre-scientific philosophical (Platonic) and archetypal (Biblical; Vedic, gnostic, pagan, etc.) notion of a Demiurge (cosmic maker or shaper) or creator-god can be contemporized in terms of the deterministic, self-organizing dynamics of Chaos Theory. “In the beginning” was Chaos, the negentropic Source. The creative edge of chaos is implicated in the creation of the universe, as well as in human creativity and learning processes. We propose a universal theory of creativity emerging from chaos theory. The most primordial aspect of creation, the Demiurgic Field (DUF) as continuous creation, underlies and continues to influence energic/material and psychic processes. The DUF is cosmic “zero,” the negentropic source of emergent order or ground state – the source of physical manifestation and our psychophysical being. We can employ procedures to connect with this source of inspiration and renewal in a holistic manner. An organic, rather than mechanistic, paradigm for shaping modern culture and creative lifestyles emerges. http://creativeprocess.iwarp.com/rich_text.html

Quantum Bioholography: a review of the field from 1973-2002 Richard Alan Miller, Iona Miller and Burt Webb
Superposed coherent waves of different types in the cells interact to form diffraction patterns, firstly in the acoustic domain, secondly in the electromagnetic domain -- a quantum hologram -- a translation process between acoustical and optical holograms.Creative, novel and enriching psychotherapeutic experiences can lead to neurogenesis, gene expression, and healing which facilitate mindbody communication and can have a long-term transformative effect on the whole person (Rossi, 2002). Thus, bioholography has relevant applications for optimizing health, well-being and even self-realization. It is relevant in biophysics, medicine, psychobiology, psychotherapy and the holistic healing arts. It provides us with a more genetically integrated model of the complex dynamics of the mindbody -- one arising in the domain underlying the standard genetic code triplet model. DREAM NETWORK - "Chaos and Consciousness" Pt. 1 and 2
Prepared for the Proceedings of the Society for Chaos Theory in Psychology. Presented at Saybrook Institute, Summer, 1991.
ABSTRACT: Experiential therapy sessions and mysticism demonstrate that as we journey deeper and deeper into the psyche we eventually encounter a state characterized either as "chaotic" or void of images. In a therapeutic context, chaos is experienced as a consciousness state--the ground state. This state is related to healing, dreams, and creativity. Shamanic approaches to healing involve co-consciousness states which lead to restructuring both physical and emotional-mental senses of self.Dreams, creativity, and healing arise from this undifferentiated "chaotic consciousness." Dreamhealing uses images as portals for consciousness journeys to facilitate transformations ranging from mood alteration to profound physiological changes. Imagery (virtual experience) affects the immune system, activating psychosomatic forces, such as the placebo effect. Chaos-oriented consciousness journeys suggest these states reflect complex phase space, fractal patterns, strange attractors, "the butterfly effect," sensitivity, complex feedback loops, intermittency, and other general dynamical aspects suggested by chaos theory. More than an experiential process, this is a philosophy of treatment--"Chaosophy." http://www.asklepia.org/chaosophy/chaosophy2.html#top

PM&E - "Tantric Lunar Resonance Meditation"
During Vedic and pre-Vedic periods, (according to sources such as Satapatha Brahmana and Taittireva Sanhita), there were certain times of each month when the priests would meditate on specific symbols. The belief was that, if one meditated in synchronization with these phases, it could be compared to riding on a swing. A kick at the right point could put more energy into the swing than at any other point in the cycle. The ancient belief was that meditation on certain symbols at specific times related to phases of the moon would add 'soma' to the body more than at other times of the month. Though the nature of soma has been hotly debated, most agree it produced optimal spiritual growth. Farmers and gardeners have for centuries known the profound differences in weather, plant growth, and seed-timing associated with lunar phases. Newer research shows the moon's effect on the electromagnetic fields of the earth, and their subsequent biological influence. Specific examples can be found in the lunar sex cycle of the female, and the insomnia and emotional instability characteristic of the Full Moon phase. Less well-known is that the moon may be used as a means of spiritual regeneration and accelerating the growth of the "diamond body," or spiritual vehicle. There is a higher spiritual aspect to the Moon Goddess than that represented as Yesod in the Tree of Life, or psychologically as the "personal" anima, (one's projected feminine ideal). Anima Mundi, or the Divine Inspiratrix, is represented on the Tree of Life and in Tarot by Trump II, the High Priestess, the crescent Moon. This Goddess not only confers 'immortality,' but also wisdom and inspiration. http://zero-point.tripod.com/meditation/tantriclunar.html
